Meetings & Incentives Worldwide (M&IW), a global event management and strategy firm, has been named to MeetingsNet’s 2021 CMI 25 list. In its fifteenth year, the list showcases the most influential full-service meeting and incentive travel management companies in the U.S. and has featured M&IW for fourteen consecutive years.

Meetings & Incentives Worldwide has been named to the 15th annual list of the largest meeting and incentive travel companies.

“This honor is particularly meaningful given how the meetings and events industry was turned upside down due to the pandemic. It was both a challenging and exciting year for M&IW,” said Tina Madden, Co-CEO and Chief Customer Officer. “Our team leaned in from the start, displaying courage, vulnerability, loyalty, and deep collaboration. A key part of our success was because of how we were positioned prior to the pandemic; we already had an effective remote workforce in place with the technology to support collaboration among our team and with our customers. Additionally, our core values of innovation, agility, and flexibility enabled us to maximize opportunities, challenged us to think differently about our business, and optimized customer impact.”

M&IW continued to forge ahead and expanded its consulting division. “Our research shows companies are rethinking their meeting and event (M&E) strategy due to the changing landscape,” said Lisa Palmeri, Vice President and Principal Consultant of the Intent Strategy Group, a division of M&IW.  “We are consulting clients on the best way to revisit and redefine global policy and guidelines, operations, and strategy on an ever-shifting (pandemic and geopolitical) world stage.”

M&IW also made strategic investments to strengthen its in-house capabilities around marketing solutions, creative services, and engagement strategies to meet customer needs. Their new division called FLOW is focused on telling client stories and sharing brand experiences in a way that emotionally connects with audiences and drives engagement. “We’ve relied on organic growth to expand and create an agency environment within M&IW to provide an end-to-end solution for our clients where creative solutions intersect with purposeful events to deliver exceptional experiences,” said Marie Johnson, CMP, Director of Marketing & Strategy.

FLOW is where creative solutions intersect with purposeful events to deliver exceptional experiences.

This past year, M&IW also expanded their virtual and hybrid solutions, increased their digital and event production offerings, introduced new employee recognition and gifting opportunities, and diversified their teams’ skillset with the addition of more than 75 new event-related certifications in 2020 alone. They continue to position their service offerings for the future of events.

The CMI 25 list is published in the September/October 2021 issue of the MeetingsNet digital edition on MeetingsNet.

“This year, you won’t find statistics on the number of meetings executed, rooms booked, or staff size. Instead, the focus is on recent developments and thought leadership—and there’s plenty of both, including new company names, new partnerships, and new priorities, including virtual,” said Sue Hatch, MeetingsNet Content Director.
