FAMILY VALUES
In the 1970s, in Racine, Wisconsin, Dan Neider and his parents, Walter and Mildred, started a small travel agency, Neider Travelway, Inc., planning trips for the local community and some corporate travel.
As word spread about Neider Travelway’s superior service, Dan started dreaming about what the future could hold for his family’s company. Corporate group travel became a focus, followed by corporate meetings in the late 1980s. The company changed its name to Meetings by Design and landed a few nationally recognized clients. From working late nights to toting luggage for arriving groups, Dan Neider and his four full-time employees did it all.
Dan’s daughters, Jean Johnson and Tina Madden, joined the team in the mid-1990s, and the company changed its name to Meetings & Incentives to reflect its changing focus. While impeccable service remained a priority, this was a time of growth and expansion.

Jean Johnson and Tina Madden lead M&IW with a customer-centric focus and a commitment to superb service, impactful results, and continuous improvement. They lead a team of hundreds and have more than quintupled the average annual revenues with a managed meeting and event spend that continues to grow at an impressive rate year over year.
Under their leadership, M&IW has opened global offices, expanded the incentive and conference divisions, leveraged the most effective and innovative event technologies, and more. In 2013, we became a WBENC-certified Women’s Business Enterprise. The goal—and the result—is the same as it has been since Dan and his parents started it all: Keep customers happy, exceed their goals, and always be trusted with the next big challenge.
