The training is part of a new Event Design Framework focused on improving meetings, events, and incentives through the lens of neuroscience.

Caledonia, Wisconsin (December 13, 2023) – To launch a new companywide focus on event design, a cross-functional representation of Meetings & Incentives Worldwide (M&IW) team members recently completed the Neuroscience of Exhibitions and Events workshop and earned the accompanying digital credential.

The workshop and digital credential were offered through the International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE) and Madison College. It was led by Janet Sperstad, CMP-Fellow, Faculty Director – Event Management, Madison College.

More engagement, meaningful experiences are the result of meetings and events designed within a neurocognitive framework.

As event and exhibitions professionals, we must create event experiences that drive deeper meaning, inspire innovation, accelerate connections, and maximize our attendees’ brainpower to supercharge results,” said Janet.

During the workshop, participants learned the five domains of human social experiences. They then explored how to apply this knowledge to event design to:

  • Examine why our brains are wired to socially connect.
  • Foster greater connectivity during events.
  • Create brain-friendly environments that drive results.
  • Influence how attendees think and engage with events.

This benefits event attendees by driving deeper meaning and engagement as well as customers by delivering better results and increasing ROI.

MI&W is a true leader in the event design and neuroscience connection.

“The timing was perfect for us to participate in this workshop as we are developing an Event Design Framework that will amplify events through a neuroscience lens,” said Tina Madden, CEO, M&IW. “We were honored to have Janet share her years’ of experience and knowledge on creating more brain-friendly experiences.”

As part of the new Event Design Framework, M&IW’s Jeanette Davis, Customer Success Director, Enterprise Solutions, and Marie Johnson, Sr. Marketing Strategist, Sales Enablement, have been named Champions of Event Design Neuroscience. They will lead the company-wide training and implementation of new ideas for the program.

In addition to Jeanette and Marie, the M&IW team members who received their Neuroscience of Exhibitions and Events credential include Amy Beaton, Meg Castro, Kelly Fuller, Jill Gallagher, Michael Garcia, Zaina Gonzalez, Laura Green, Angie Gross, Melissa Hahn, Kristi King, Ashley Krueger, Tina Madden, Paquita McCray, Shauna McNaughton, Jessica Menzer, Elizabeth Muth, Alyssa Nelson, Tracy Norum, Elaina Novak, Nicole Raudabaugh, Serena Sretenovich, Dan Tarpey, Stacey Tarr, Mary Tocci, Adrienne Tooley, Lisa Twardowski, and Ashley Wolf.
